I'm not obsessive about music and am much more out of touch since the daughters left home; but still I love to see live music when the opportunity arises
That's why I like folk festivals, for although the artists may not be in the popular market I usually manage to see a couple of acts which I haven't seen before.
At Cleckheaton there were two such bands, one I knew the name but hadn't seen them live and the other was quite new to me.

How I wish I had seen the JOHN WRIGHT BAND before.
Since they were booked to appear at Cleckheaton sadly the lead singer John has passed away. The remaining members of the band carried on with the gig with singer and songwriter and guitarist Pete Abbot stepping in on vocals and Scottish fiddle champion Gregor Borland along with superb musician Joe Wright on fiddle and mandolin they managed to still complete an amazing gig and paid a great tribute to the band's namesake.
Peter Abbot sang many of the songs that John would have sang and I wondered how the band could have been better with John as the lead singer so I looked on Youtube and found many clips of him.

Although these tracks are tear-jerkers I particularly appreciated the velvetness and beauty of his voice and i'm sure he is a welcome addition to the heavenly choir. RIP John

underneath this post I have posted about the other band I enjoyed who are completely different but quite talented!
